Known as Maryland's Stealth State Park, Purse is a little off the beaten path. The natural beauty of the area spans from deciduous forests to marshes and tidal river frontage along the Potomac. Fossils and sharks teeth, tiny spiraled shells, oyster shells and clams are scattered into the golden sands. Nearby eagles nest. A little patience reveals the eagles hunting fish and feeding their hatchlings. In a few minutes time we saw several pairs successfully hunt. Dog owners should be careful of the many fish bones and half eaten fish heads and tails the tide has washed up along the shoreline.
