Westmoreland State Park is a really nice place to visit and you can bring your dog along. Dogs are allowed in overnight campsites and in the many cabins. Since it is an official park, dogs must be on leash. Despite the fact that it's easy to feel as if you are a millions of miles away, there are friendly park volunteers close by at all times. We headed down a marked trail to Fossil Beach, a favorite of locals. Sharks teeth and other fossils millions of years old are found here often. Be prepared, the walk to Fossil Beach is long. It may be more than a mile each way and there is a long steep incline, but the walk is worth it. Another beach is near with a fishing pier and a large swimming pool. Between the pier and pool is a large grassy area with picnic tables and barbecue grills. There is another wonderful trail with along staircase that leads to the pool, but this area does parking and a paved road. |

Abby at ten years in Vermont M.E. and Ray started Luvlabs.com after getting their second lab Bella in June 2009. It was a tough choice getting another Labrador because there are so many great dogs. Both mixed and pedigree have their merits. Having a dog as wonderful as Abby made it even harder. Abby was a near white Yellow Lab that was special to our family. She achieved near mythic proportions with true life stories of retrieving 3 balls at once, learning to spell and even being housebroken her first day. We worried that any Lab even of another color would remind us too much of our lifetime companion.
Bella at ten weeks Our new Lab Bella doesn't have her AKC registration and it doesn't matter since she won't be shown or bred. Bella's life here will be filled with play and high quality dog food. We are crate training her; we trained Abby the same way. The breeders called Bella a Fox Red Lab and she is much redder than Abby. These days there are Silver Labs too, but the official colors are still Black, Yellow and Chocolate. If you'd like to share your Lab and Lab mix stories and photos or even your Love of playing with your Lab buddies go ahead and sign up for Luvlabs.com. We'll be updating the site soon with restaurants that are dog friendly, events and others stuff to do with your dog(s). We are also researching fun parks, so if you've got a great one—please let us know! Thanks, M.E. & Ray |
